I'm eating chocolate ice cream for breakfast
Why?
Because I can
I'm a grown up now and that's what I want to do
I'm sleeping til two in the afternoon
I'm not sick, It's just June.
No place in particular I need to be
That's the beauty of being me
Do what I do when I want to
I'm not getting dressed today
Why?
Because I can
I'm a grown up now and that's what I want to do
I'm staying out past two in the morning
Chasing the stars and greeting the dawn
Listening to the sound of the traffic at night
Do what I do when I want to
Being me makes it alright
I'm eating chocolate ice cream for breakfast
Why?
Because I can
I'm a grown up now and that's what I want to do

Summer Haiku
Pencils, pens and books
Gone are all the dirty looks
School's out for summer
Summer days are here
I've waited for them all year
Time to stand and cheer
Sleeping very late
Enjoying decadent foods
Summer's my excuse
Scrambling through the streets
Free food and drinks for us all
Summer's siren call
Culver City Fun
Spiked and free makes it better
Ice cold lemonade

World Market
Water from Sweden
Wine from Spain
Mackays for
your morning breakfast
or afternoon tea
Without this Scottish product
What would your toast or scone be?
Meyer's Sparkling lemon
or perhaps the Sparkling pear
either purchase pleases taste buds
get them both if you dare.
Wasa is a cracker
and Voss is water
Try the Dark Chocolate Strawberry Wine
you know you wanta!
Roquefort Cheese
if you please
or perhaps Dolce Latte Gorgonzola.
International palettes are fortunate
to have the World Market.

After the Feast
Why does my belly hurt?
Oh yeah, the decadent dessert;
Or was it all the meat and mashed potatoes?
Heaven knows it couldn't have been the tomatoes,
stuffing or the gravy, No that couldn't be.
Candied yams and bits of ham glazed ever so sweetly?
Possibly.
Why does my belly ache?
Could it have been all the cake?
Curse this appetite I tried to sate
The taste testing because I couldn't wait.
Must have been All the food I ate
in generous portions piled on my plate;
That I just ate and ate and ate.
Eyes bigger than my tummy
I couldn't help myself
It was all so yummy
Didn't eat it all as I'm no dummy
There's some left overs upon my shelf
Another delicious treat just for myself.
This time I will not pile the food upon my plate,
This time smaller portions I will take;
Because the end of the holiday is here
Over eating and a belly ache
well they will just have to wait
Until the same time next year.

Anticipating
Anticipating
I hate all the waiting
It just can't come soon enough.
Savoring the moment
when all my time's spent
consuming delicious stuff.
Anticipating
I hate all the waiting
It just can't come soon enough.
Sweet and delicious
It's barely nutritious
What to eat first the decision is rough.
Anticipating
I hate all the waiting
It just can't come soon enough.
