in sun dried sand.

Silently stating

Until time to replenish

Stalks standing, standing still.

Dried husks devour dirt and

dust along the tracks.

Foreigners see yet

never look back.

Remembering only

The fields of joy

Not the sadness

Of stilted deploy.

Awaiting the new year

With laughter aplenty

Joyous revival 

Suns solace delight

Stalks standing

Sway subtly

with life.
