Here we go again
day out and day in
sounds of bells
and electric beeps
invading my morning
Here we go again
day out and day in
stumbling in the dark
as I can't quite comprehend
this early our at which my day begins
Here we go again
day out and day in
it's the American way
all work and no play
another dollar another day

Pinch Me
Pinch me
because I still
can't believe
that this is real.
Pinch me
to let me see
what I feel
is reality
Pinch me
to help me
perceive
the beauty that's
in front of me
Pinch me
because if this
is a dream
then never-ending
make it seem
Pinch me
because I still
can't believe
that this is real.

Creativity Has Called In Sick
It's as if I've never had a thought before.
Words have left and locked the door.
Imagination is on vacation.
Creativity has called in sick.
Rhyme, reason and wit
told me they have quit.
No need to look for alliteration
or to find personification.
Eek and egads, arghh and uhgg
Onomatopoeia's left without a hug.
It's as if I've never had a thought before.
Words have left and locked the door.
Imagination is on vacation.
Creativity has called in sick.
Tall tales seem small, simile's are
like a siren's call leading me astray
Metaphors are roadblocks in my mind
I've left all artistry behind.
To the world of words I've become blind.
It's as if I've never had a thought before.
Words have left and locked the door.
Imagination is on vacation.
Creativity has called in sick.

Weekend Fun
Night life
running wild
acting like
a rebel child
At morning's light
we said goodnight
The crack of noon
time to leave the room
Over indulging
with no regrets
Ladies and Gentlemen
place your bets
All too soon
it came to a close
When will we meet again?
Heaven knows.

It's Been A While
It's been a while
Far too long
Will we remember
How to get along.
It's been a while
We're traveling far
Long time friends
In one big car.
It's been a while
Time to run wild
Three personalities
equal on big child.
It's been a while
We each have changed
We're still us
Just a wee bit strange.
It's been a while
Far too long
Will we remember
How to get along.

Why Can't We Return?
Saturday morning
back in the day
Children's television
in it's heyday.
Cartoons and conjunctions
ruled the airwaves.
Why can't we
return to those days?
Red Rover came over
and lights switched red to green.
Laughing children could often
be seen.
Streetlights came on.
Fireflies were chased.
Why can't we return
to that happy place?
Stories were read
not digitally downloaded.
Imaginations created
until they exploded.
Forts were made
and people played
games in the same room.
Why can't we return
to where these memories bloom?
back in the day
Children's television
in it's heyday.
Cartoons and conjunctions
ruled the airwaves.
Why can't we

Halloween Haunts
Scary
Disturbing
Frightening
Unnerving
Dissonant sounds
surround
Scary
Disturbing
Frightening
Unnerving
Ghosts and Goblins
are found
Scary
Disturbing
Frightening
Unnerving
Zombies creep
above ground
Scary
Disturbing
Frightening
Unnerving
Imminent doom
abounds
Scary
Disturbing
Frightening
Unnerving
Halloween haunts
astound
