A Thought

Yesterday I had a thought about something in particular

This morning I woke up with it and it felt quite familiar

I can't recall the details which seem rather peculiar

but I know that it was all rather spectacular

Something which we all should add to our vernacular 

Today I will go forth and try to recall this important gem

Perhaps it will come to me while singing a certain hymn

Who knows when it will it or with what vigor and vim

There's so much info in my brain it's filled up to the brim

All I know is if it doesn't return I shall just feel a bit grim

Words Get In The Way

Words get in the way
creative concepts don't stay
Not sure exactly what to say
words get in the way

Plenty on my mind
But it's as if I'm flying blind
because I just can't find
how to say what's on my mind

It'll be easier as time goes by
to find the reason and the why
to find the words and make them fly
All I have to do is try


But for now I have to say
creative concepts just don't stay
All my ideas are out to play
And the words get in the way

Good Morning

I have clothes to wear
I have shoes for my feet
I slept in a warm bed
Woke up to enough to eat
I have some place to be
and eyes with which to see
Luckily for me
I breathe quite normally
Monetarily rich is not my ability
My riches come from friendships and family
If given a choice I would still be me
So it's a good morning
Quite a good morning to be

Patience

Patience is a virtue
I've been told time
and time again

Even still
my patience is
wearing very thin

I'm running out of
patience for a
Saint I truly ain't

This patience thing
is truly trying
but again it's
what I must do

For patience is a Virtue
and I shall be
patient for you

I don't care to go

out of the house today

With this advanced technology

they have to have the ability

to send in the clones for me

I will stay home warm in bed

no need for sugar plums  in my head

just sleep and movies instead

Lights Out in my neighborhood

Total darkness

That's not good

Luckily candles

I have plenty

Luckily flashlights

I have many.

I've no computer

And no tv

Sitting in the dark

It's just me

and of course

my sweet birdie.

Listen to the neighbors

cry in dismay

Some were making dinner

Others had games to play

Some are missing favorite shows

For me it's just the way it goes.

Watching flames flicker

Listening to the night sounds

Realizing once again

How the world astounds.

Forced to sit still

Forced to stay silent

All in a way

That is quite non violent.

Not spending my night as I should
