Discuss, reflect, generate, create

IF something goes wrong
maybe that's what was meant

Bluster and Braggadocio

If you win I lose
that's fair to say
I'm quite frightened of
what's happening in the USA

Can't pay for a plate
so not granted admission
Stuck with two parties
of high priced politicians

We the people need to awaken
As sadly too many are greatly mistaken
that bluster and braggadocio
Can lead where we need to go

All the lies and deception
to keep us at bay
All will be revealed
come election day

Almost Forgot

Almost forgot to write today
 got lost in a book what can I say
 My thoughts ran off on this lovely day
lost track of time and got carried away

Luckily I have tonight
to take a moment to set things right
with words that I did mean to write

Yes, I almost forgot but I'm glad I did not
So here's just a few words I can find
to appreciate this world of mine

I want

I want to write something that makes you smile
blocking out the current climate for a while

I want to write something that brings peace of mind
Ignoring the sign of current times

I want to write something to inspire
instead of watching a society under fire

I want to write something  filled with vision
that offsets our current state of derision

I want to write something to take us into tomorrow
I want to but alas, I feel too much sorrow

A World of Less

Can we live in a world where we kill each other less?
Life should be really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.
Criticism, sexism, ageism, racism is this what our society should represent?

Can we live in a world where we kill each other less?
A world that's peace and love where I'm free to be. 
A world that's peace and love and actual liberty.

I'm not an idealist. Change happens slowly
This reality requires courage of conviction,
strength of character and a setting aside of ego in order to obtain.

Still judged by the color of skin
not the content of character
Did MLK even exist or
Are his dreams just fantasy and myth

Peace love and harmony
do they matter?

Bullets without brains
death, destruction and human remains
Animosity, distrust and tempers rising
Is World War Three on the horizon?

Seems like my parents marched for no reason
My words will convince others that I speak treason
