Here I sit
Waiting
Waiting outside the shadows of dusk.
Waiting for someone to come let me in.
Here I wait
time and time again.
Here I wait
Knowing that eventually someone will arrive.
Here I remain
waiting on that elusive someone.
Here I remain
outside, alone
weighed down by the burdens of the day

Alone In The Dark
Who hasn't sat in the dark
Alone
Intently watching the shadows
of daylight's familiar things?
Who hasn't sat in the dark
Alone
Listening to the low hum
of electricity
Wondering
whose steps are those
outside my window
If you haven't sat in the dark
Alone
Then maybe you're lucky
Then again maybe you're not
Comfort comes in darkness.
Shadows conceal,
Imagination explores
Darkness can open doors
I sit in the dark
Naked, Wondering
Listening, Waiting
Alone

Five Hundred
Five hundred rhymes I've written here
Five hundred witnesses saw Christ appear
And this mythical bird has an interesting feature
The Phoenix rises every five hundred years
Five hundred poems I've written not easily
The number five hundred is Irish infinity
What's the Physical life of the microcosmic creature
Five hundred according to an R. Allendy
Can't wait to see what my mind has in store
With the penning of poems at least five hundred more

Today I Am
Today I write because I can
Today I state proudly I am
I am proud
I am wise
I am happy as I am
I am me
I am free
to make mistakes
and fix them too
I am young
I am old
I am certain
that I don't know
I am here
I am clear
I am boldly going to go
Today I write for my own soul
Today I flourish because I know
Today is one of many more
Today I am
of that I'm sure
Today I state proudly I am
I am proud
I am wise
I am happy as I am
I am me
I am free
to make mistakes
and fix them too
I am young
I am old
I am certain
that I don't know
I am here
I am clear
I am boldly going to go
Today I write for my own soul
Today I flourish because I know
Today is one of many more
Today I am
of that I'm sure

Tuesday
Monday morning has come and gone
the week is trying to move along
life is leading me on it's way
Today is Tuesday, my favorite day
Tuesday's child is full of grace
A quality that's no disgrace
Simple elegance you can't replace
Charm and mercy
Gracefulness
A quiet day
among the rest
Tuesday is my favorite day
No nonsense stands in it's way

3 Minutes
I've just 3 minutes to write today
That's all I have then I must start my day
No time for eloquent liberties
No time to put your mind at ease
No time for poetic prophecies
No time for romantic midnight scenes
No time for delicate sensibilities
No time for individual writing techniques
Just 3 minutes to say what I need
Just 3 minutes to plant the seed
