Small Sips

There's just a thin layer of liquid
left in the bottom of the bottle.
"Why is this in here?" I ask.
"Small Sips." is his response

What?
What?
Small Sips?
What do you mean?

I filled my glass to where I want
and there's too much to just pour out.
I'll leave the rest for a small sip
for when next I'm up and about..

Torn between laughter
and utter frustration.
I find his explanation
 honestly amazing.
This is my reality.
This is my life.

Dating couple living
under one roof.
Learning about habits which were
previously aloof.
Can we make it together
This will provide us the proof.
Small Sips,
My baby is just such a goof.

Holiday History Mystery

Most common theory
going 'round
for the day we all
become a clown
is that the calendar
was turned upside down

Changed the calendar
so shame on you
for not knowing
the year's already new
April Fool is must be you!

Hilaria hysteria
in days of old
play tricks on the emperor
if you're bold

It's now
Roman laughing day
or so I'm told
pranks it would seem
never grow old

Colorful dyes
get in the mix
Holi is the holiday
for the Hindu fix
jokes and frivolity
colorful ticks
Even non Hindu
join the mix

And here's another
day to prank
Sizdahbedar
The Persians thank
for being able to
play and prank

Common theme
seen 'round the world
pranks by grown ups
boys and girls
time for laughter
jokes and joy
from every girl
and every boy
Play a prank
and show us how
the time for
laughter
would be now

April Fool

One day of silliness

every year
to fill your spirits
with good cheer

A fool is wise
Just in disguise
Using laughter to portray
the everyday
in such a way

As to make comical
small tragedies
and palatable atrocities

So hopefully
the world can see
what is really meant to be

One day of silliness
every year
to fill your spirits
with good cheer

An April Fool
will make you half-blind
with thoughts
that rule
the corners of your mind

Lasts but a day
this foolish way
of laughter, jokes and tricks

One day impractical
One day of pranks
Designated day of laughter
We should all give thanks

As Good as Gold

On the fifth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Five Gold Rings
Four calling birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtledoves
and a Partridge in a Pear tree.

I am in shock
I am in awe
I am in love with you
My love you are quite true

I will even forgive you
for continuing to bring
all those birds that sing
and other silly things

I never expected
Five Gold Rings
I never expected anything
The fine feathered menagerie
Made me believe you didn't care for me
Now I realize your creativity
An elaborate distraction's what this had to be

Why else would my true love give to me
all those creatures consistently
The game is over
Your plan succeeds
You are my true love
Yes indeed
No other tokens do I need

The silliness of feathered gifts
The plan to get me nice and miffed
All that you did
And now it's done
This game my love has been quite fun
As for other gifts
I don't need one
You've done more than enough and then some

Constant Calling

On the fourth day of Christmas
my true love gave to me
Four Calling birds, Three French Hens
Two Turtledoves and a
Partridge in a Pear Tree.

I forgave you once
I forgave you twice
It was my mistake to
forgive you thrice

I woke up to the morning rain
It's cold and wet and I must complain
Not just about the rain that falls
but about these birds and constant calls

Why oh Why do you torment me?
A silly bird up in a tree
Turtle doves and strange French Hens
Now birds that call over and over again.

FEATHERS FLY
is what said I
now my love I just might cry

No more BIRDS
That's it I quit
Tomorrow dear
please Get with it!!!!

Turtle Doves from my Love

On the second day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Two turtle Doves and
A Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Another tree oh deary me
My true love you can't possibly be
We discussed at length
The insanity of
Partridges up in a tree.

And now my love
You give me Two Turtle Doves?
How about a pair of gloves?

Stop sending me gifts
from the skies above.
Try to remember dear
You're my true love
And just say NO to Two Turtle Doves!

An Invitation

If you invite me in I wouldn't say No
You held me tight
I couldn't let go

A kiss, a hug, a fond embrace
Returned me to a different time and place

If you invite me in I wouldn't say No
Thoughts for a moment
of how once was our time spent

If you invite me in I wouldn't say No
Dinner, a walk,
a laugh and a talk

If you invite me in I wouldn't say No
I kissed your cheek and said You're right
I held you close You held me tight

We both knew it was the end of the night.

Come and Go

My Depression Moods
Are things that come and go
like laughing.

Laugh more
Cry less.

When you cry
Make it your best

When you're through
Consider this

These things I know
Come and go
like laughter.

Magic and Misery
live forever.

ONCE UPON A TIME I WAS A GIRL

The sky was blue the fields were green and I was eating ice cream.
The scent of roses filled the air and I was soaring with it
I saw a woman standing on a corner all alone
So I walked over to talk to her and maybe help her home
She looked at me and smiled; a memory in her eyes she said,

“Darling child, I am home. At least as close as I will get.”
I didn’t understand her but she didn’t seem to mind
She asked me to stay with her and help to ease her mind.

“Once upon a time I was a girl.” She said
“A long, long time ago. But now I’m just an old woman.
A woman who wants to know: From where does the rainbow shine?
Where do falling stars go? But most of all where does all the time go?
Where does it go?” I didn’t understand her questions At least I didn’t then.
But now, as I sit here alone in the park and watch the children play, somewhere in the recesses of my mind I hear the answers to her questions; At least I think I do.

Colors seem to come out of your mind. Rainbows are just thoughts all in line. Falling stars, I’ve seen them on the shore then just grains of sand and nothing more. I still wonder where all the time goes. I don’t think I’ll ever know. But once upon a time I was a girl.
Yes, once upon a time I was a girl.

Duck Butt

Pointing, laughing, giggling til crying
Quick take a picture
At this sight I'm dying.

It's funny.
It's silly.
It's childish that's true.

However,
What else would you do
When Duck Butt
Pops UP
In front of you?
