Everything looks great from the outside
It's amazing what laughter
and smiles can hide
Everything looks great from the outside
It's amazing all the details
you can keep inside
Everything looks great from the outside
It's amazing how mangled truth
never sounds like you've lied
Everything looks great from the outside
It's amazing how your heart
keeps beating even though it's died
Everything looks great from the outside
It's amazing how deftly
the illusion is applied
Everything looks great from the outside
It's amazing what smiles
and laughter can hide

Completely Connected
More information
less interaction
with that right in front of you.
Sat down for a moment
looked up after a minute
I seem to have lost more
than an hour or two.
Interrupted service
Lost connection
prompts questions of
Now what do I do?
Do you make life simpler
or more complicated?
Are we getting smarter or
merely sedated?
Laptop, tablet
desktop, phone
Completely connected
but still quite alone.

Window to the World
This window to the world
a genie no longer in a bottle
Does it do more harm than good?
Did you mean it sarcastically?
Did you say it with contempt?
Did you make a joke for me
or was it of me?
This window to the world
Allows one to forget or
remember, stalk or be voyeur

Cyber bully, Troll, Online evil.
If you can't say something nice then
post it unedited for the world to see.
Go ahead it's easy based on many
comments that you see.

Honking Geese
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive
Out of nowhere comes the sound
intended to make you turn around
intended to make you get out of the way
intended to make you move faster,
get over, get going, just get.
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive
It's not our fault that
you're running late
It's not our fault
you need to turn
It's not our fault
the lights turning red
Your sense of importance
is all in your head.
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive
Where are we supposed to go
through the pedestrian
like an agile equestrian?
Over the car in front,
or maybe through it's trunk?
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive
You're running late
which isn't great
but your circumstance
is not my fate
Turn off your anger
tone down your hate
for on our nerves
You truly grate.
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive

Just One of Many
Much like Greta Garbo
You want to be Alone
You claim that you are happy
being on your own.
To be in love makes you uneasy
Physical fun's your priority.
Just one of many
is what you want from me.
Just one of many
so you can remain free.
Just one of many
is what you want from me.
You've planned your life with the design
that in your heart no one is mine.
You mention often
I'm just one of many
You mention often no one is
special to you.
You mention often
I'm just one of many.
One of many seems better
than just one of two.
Somehow your heart's been awakened
by a one of many brand new.
Love has found You
Congratulations,
I'm happy for you;
But First Runner Up's not
what I wanted to do.
Often you've mentioned
I'm just one of many.
Of women in this life
you have had plenty.
Often you've mentioned
I'm just one of many
One of many it somehow
seems better it's true
than to discover that
I'm now just one of two.
You say you're not ready to just set me free.
You're falling for her but you're happy with me.
A couple is two it can never be three.
One of many you told me and
that I could be.
One of many in this case
seems better to me.
I was here first and
second place out of two
Is something I'm just
not willing to do.
Often you mentioned
I'm just one of many.
Plans for our future
I didn't have any.
Lovers embracing all we could do.
This situation
I could pursue.
But somehow my darling
one of two
just won't do.
One of many's much better
Than to be second place
in a situation where
I'm just one out of two.

Tomorrow
You may want to think of tomorrow
and the promises it brings.
You may want to think of tomorrow
and a million other things.
You may want to think of tomorrow
and all the passion it may hold,
fields of dreams and stores of gold
But tomorrow's still unclear
Today is all that's here.

THE KEY TO THE DOOR
After the shadows,
before the rain, between the heartbeats and thoughts of pain is a stillness
known to none but a few who are blessed with the ability to feel the kiss of
the old and new on their cheeks.
Music is the key to
this forgotten place. Not just any music, soul searching, mind boggling, spine
tingling rhythms won’t do. It must be a simple tune both pure and sweet. Bright
and pretty dark or deep, whichever melody it plays, it’s the simplicity, which
it conveys that keeps the key to the door in the mind of the one lost to us for
a time.
When the music plays,
a room unlocks and pours the deepest feelings in ones heart out with the hopes,
dreams and fears of love and laughter life and tears. Once accomplishing this,
the door will close, the shadows retreat and the rain starts to flow. It washes
away all traces of woe and heart beats grow stronger as time starts to go.
The stillness now
broken lets the world reappear. The mind has been opened gone are heartaches
and fear. The cycle continues again and again until finally the music proceeds
to win.

THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM THE STORM
It’s wet and cold, it’s
dreary and dark.
The lightening flashes an
evil spark.
The thunder roars with a
lion’s temper.
The raindrops fall in tempo.
The storm is approaching
little by little
It takes it’s own sweet time.
The storm is coming it’s
gradually coming
To keep the world in
darkness.
It’s wet and cold dark and
dreary;
It’s coming to blot out the
sun.
There’s no way to stop it,
There’s no place to run
The storm will Always find
you.
It has no shape.
It has no form.
It’ll come at anytime.
The storm is approaching the
young and the old
It doesn’t matter who you
are.
It’s coming to find you. It
always will.
It’s coming to take you. It
always does.
Its fury will find you and
take you away;
There is no resistance that
you can use
It takes you and then-

RINGING AND KNOCKING
I
Silent Rings
And Rusty boxes
Time ticks by
No knocks I hear.
Outside my window
Continued noises
Laughter, Lights
That’s all I hear.
II
Silent Rings
And rusty boxes
Bells not heard
And notes not writ
Time ticks on and on and on
Traffic hums
And pulses run
That’s all I know.
III
Where to go and what to do
When will I find someone
who,
Will fill my ears with
ringing and knocking
Stop the sound of the tick,
tick, tocking.
Take me where the laughter
is
Traffic STOP, when I am his.

HEY NOW
And I say hey now, hey now
won’t you come with me
And we’ll play in the
sunshine next to the shim’ring sea.
And darlin’, darlin’ you
won’t worry none
Our lives won’t be empty
living beneath the sun.
Love me, love me today and
everyday
And we’ll sail down the
ocean the current flows our way.
Oh, hey now, hey now, the
sun shines bright all day
All the while we live
beneath it we’ll dance and sing and play.
Our lives will be a party
from now till summer’s end.

Trapped by the troubles in my mind
Trapped by the troubles in my mind
Outside I often find
Others have their troubles too
I tell myself it's not just you.
Conversations overheard
Youngster's troubles different words
Same as mine at a different time
We all have issues they will find.
Trapped by the troubles in our mind.
Nothing's new just rearranged
Why must we be so estranged?
All this trouble, nothing's changed
Outside I often find
Others have their troubles too
I tell myself it's not just you.
Conversations overheard
Youngster's troubles different words
Same as mine at a different time
We all have issues they will find.
Trapped by the troubles in our mind.

Why must we be so estranged?
All this trouble, nothing's changed

Believe in Yourself
"We are all mad here."
The Cheshire Cat says
as he disappears.
Anger, Confusion, and Eccentricity
All that and more
your personal identity.
"We are all mad here."
The Cheshire Cat says
as he reappears.
Laughter, Love, Hope and Serenity
All this and more
your personal identity.
"We are all mad here."
The Cheshire Cat says
as he holds back tears.
Tears of Laughter.
Tears of Joy.
Silent tears filled with noise.
Believe in yourself
Or fade away
Listen child to what I say.
"We are All mad here."
"We Are all mad here."
"We are all mad Here."

Everyone is Not a Winner
Here have a reward,
NO need to work hard.
Just show up breathing
A prize you're receiving
It's as easy as that nowadays.
Hard work is passe.
Tough knocks
Fade away.
Learn a lesson from life
Not a chance.
Participate
and we congratulate
The mere fact that you are there.
Work hard and win
Apparently's a sin.
In society today
Everyone wins.

As Yet Untitled
Remember, I Love you, although you forget.
Remember, I Love you when I'm off on My Own.
There are many times I think You're NOT with Me
But I know With You as a friend that really can't be.
We have different Passions; Not all of them shared.
But through it all, We've been quite the Pair.
Stop feeling bitter when it seems I'm not there.
Remember I Love You Remember I care.
Don’t throw up fences that don’t need to be there.
Remember, I Love you when I'm off on My Own.
There are many times I think You're NOT with Me
But I know With You as a friend that really can't be.
