Three Day Weekend

Three day weekend has come and gone
It was three full days that didn't feel long
So many places, so many events, so much food
It doesn't make sense.

How did the days just slip away?
How did we get to today?
How did the hours just fly by?
How did it happen this way?

Next three day pass is not til November.
It'll take so long we'll barely remember
What it was like to have this much fun
I wish the weekend wasn't done.

Wouldn't it be great
if we could incorporate
a three day weekend every month?

A chance to celebrate
and  take a little break
from the realities that we live.
