Standing still or flying by
frozen in the blink of an eye
it always moves in ways
that aren't appropriate for our day
Too much to do
too little time
In time the answers
will come to you
Time
flowing
growing
going
knowing
Time
Is it on my side?
It heals wounds
IT fades memories
It discovers answers
It distances friends and enemies
Sands of time shall run
Rivers of time shall flow
Is it on my side?
In time I guess I'll know.

Patience Please
Patience is a virtue
I have yet to master
I wait and I try to stay calm
but I get ahead of myself
again and again.
When will this round of being patient
come to an end?
I am tired of waiting.
I am tired of staying positive.
I don't want to look on the bright side.
I can no longer hold my horses.
I want what I want and I want it
NOW!
Patience is a virtue
I have yet to master.
Patience is a virtue
I have yet to master.
Patience is a virtue
I have yet to master.
I want it now, but I know
it's not coming
until good time.
It will arrive when I least expect it.
Just give it time.

Please Hold
Your call is important to us, please hold
sounds like a lie.
I've heard it far too many times.
Nothing has changed.
The static state remains the same.
Your call is important to us, please hold.
Has it been minutes, months or years?
I can no longer tell.
I've been on hold so long
I can't even hear what passes for music
in this place.
Your call is important to us, please hold.
How much longer should I wait?
I need my issue fixed
but limbo is where I seem destined to wait.
Nothing has changed.
How long is this supposed to take?
Your call is important to us, please hold.
Mechanical , perfunctory, reassurance that eventually
what I need will be resolved.
I hold on because I want to
but I am losing hope
It's the same flat note
I've heard it far too many times.
Nothing has changed.
The static state remains the same.
Your call is important to us, please hold
sounds like a lie.

Small Steps
Small steps.
Rebuilding habits
Lost for a while
returning to now.
Not quite sure of
how to proceed,
Will figure it out.
Will figure it out.

Undone
We always focus on
What’s left undone:
Dishes in the sink
Errands to run
We always focus on
What’s left undone:
Words we should have
said
Finding that perfect
someone
We always focus on
What’s left undone
Pounds we need to
lose
Miles we need to run.
We need to refocus
We need to rethink
We need to know that
Now is to live and
play
That tomorrow is
another day.
Focus not on what’s
undone
But was done instead
Meals eaten, smiles
given,
Plays seen, laughing
and singing
Conversations spoken
Trips taken
What’s undone
Can be done
But for now
It’s just undone
