The Way It Is

Forgot to share a thought last night
Can't think about a one today
Usually there's ever so
Much for me to say

Oh well that's just the way it goes
And some things will never change
You know your brain is trying hard
When you quote Bruce Hornsby and the range

Time to start my day of work
hopefully I'll feel inspired
Today's the first day at least
That I haven't felt so tired

Til then I will remember this:

It is not too late to

Thoughts in limbo:

Love is all you have.

Budding life within the

stronghold of the sun.

I look into the mirror

and find two glass balls

staring back at me.

I am not I

I am my own way

of looking at things.

I am forgiveness

when I hate.

I am the uttering 

of joyous leaves.

The sunlight bent

as it crossed my path.

I remember yesterday.

My friends and I laughing.

They were still singing

when I left.

Perhaps I want everything

but love is all I have.

and maybe that is
