An Invitation

If you invite me in I wouldn't say No
You held me tight
I couldn't let go

A kiss, a hug, a fond embrace
Returned me to a different time and place

If you invite me in I wouldn't say No
Thoughts for a moment
of how once was our time spent

If you invite me in I wouldn't say No
Dinner, a walk,
a laugh and a talk

If you invite me in I wouldn't say No
I kissed your cheek and said You're right
I held you close You held me tight

We both knew it was the end of the night.

Nothing

Nothing to say
I have no voice.

Nothing to say
but not by choice.

Nothing to say
how very strange.

Nothing to say
hope this will change.

Nothing to say
it's something new.

Nothing to say
What shall I do?

Bodies Entangled On The Floor

Bodies entangled on the floor
feel the pressure nothing more
Discussions of what could be
Feeling pressure incessantly
Bodies entangled on the floor.

How did we meet?
How long has it been?
Conversations for old friends.
Kisses exchanged.
Parts rearranged.
Our returning feelings never seem strange.

I let my question go unasked
The answer I think is better off masked.
Don't really need to know,
Thought that I wanted to though;
Still the question I let go.

Just enjoying this moment in time
Surrounded by arms that will never be mine.
Bodies entangled on the floor
filled with passion but nothing more.

After the Feast

Why does my belly hurt?
Oh yeah, the decadent dessert;
Or was it all the meat and mashed potatoes?
Heaven knows it couldn't have been the tomatoes,
stuffing or the gravy, No that couldn't be.
Candied yams and bits of ham glazed ever so sweetly?
Possibly.

Why does my belly ache?
Could it have been all the cake?
Curse this appetite I tried to sate
The taste testing because I couldn't wait.
Must have been All the food I ate
in generous portions piled on my plate;
That I just ate and ate and ate.

Eyes bigger than my tummy
I couldn't help myself
It was all so yummy
Didn't eat it all as I'm no dummy
There's some left overs upon my shelf
Another delicious treat just for myself.

This time I will not pile the food upon my plate,
This time smaller portions I will take;
Because the end of the holiday is here
Over eating and a belly ache
well they will just have to wait
Until the same time next year.

Give Thanks

Give Thanks
That's what the Pilgrims and Natives did
but not the myth
 that we all live.

Give Thanks
For Life and liberty,
for  love and laughter,
for triumph through disaster.

Give Thanks
Don't just think materially
think kindness and generosity
think friends and family.

Give Thanks
Buddha or Allah, Mother Earth or Brother Wind
 Krishna or Isis too
Pick all, one or any God or not it's up to you

Give Thanks
Everyday not just on Thanksgiving
Thankful is the way
We all should be living.

Anticipating

Anticipating
I hate all the waiting
It just can't come soon enough.

Savoring the moment
when all my time's spent
consuming delicious stuff.

Anticipating

I hate all the waiting
It just can't come soon enough.

Sweet and delicious
It's barely nutritious
What to eat first the decision is rough.

Anticipating
I hate all the waiting
It just can't come soon enough.

Passion's Plaything

Passion's plaything
must not be you
If you scare me
and I scare you.

What's a confident girl to do
Who needs aggressive
and that's not you?

Our mutual attraction's
Overdue
for an intimate
Rendezvous.

But if you scare me,
and I scare you
One on one won't happen
From us two.
