Trying

Tried to do it differently

but it all came out the same.

Tried to get ahead

but I've fallen behind again.

Tried to face it all head on

but turned the corner instead.

Tried to make a grand design

but  a wrench has been thrown in.

Tried to fight the current

but that's just a salmon thing.

Tried to knock it down

but got pushed out the ring.

Tried to taste the difference

but the flavor burned my tongue.

Tried to keep on running

but found out I'm not that young.

Tried the nose to grindstone

but it wasn't very fun.

Tried to live someone else's life

but it never felt quite right.

Tried so many different routes

but I haven't found  the one.

Tried and failed and tried some more

But I know I'm still not done.
