Fancy Lights

There's fancy lights dancing
on the wings of the plane.
Can't talk to anyone about them
or else they'll think me insane.
Captain Kirk called attention
to the creature on the wing.
Turned out to be
quite a perilous thing.

There's fancy lights dancing
on the wings of the plane.
Can't talk to anyone about them
or else they'll think me insane.
Is it just my perception
or mere imagination
These lights I see
dancing before me?

Not time for consternation
Just joyful exaltation
to watch these funny faeries at play.
Sit quiet and enjoy them
Don't let anyone deploy them
As that might well end in dismay.

There's fancy lights dancing
on the wings of the plane.
Can't talk to anyone about them
or else they'll think me insane.
Whether altered perception
or imaginative deception
It really doesn't matter to me.
I know I see what I see.

As Good as Gold

On the fifth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Five Gold Rings
Four calling birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtledoves
and a Partridge in a Pear tree.

I am in shock
I am in awe
I am in love with you
My love you are quite true

I will even forgive you
for continuing to bring
all those birds that sing
and other silly things

I never expected
Five Gold Rings
I never expected anything
The fine feathered menagerie
Made me believe you didn't care for me
Now I realize your creativity
An elaborate distraction's what this had to be

Why else would my true love give to me
all those creatures consistently
The game is over
Your plan succeeds
You are my true love
Yes indeed
No other tokens do I need

The silliness of feathered gifts
The plan to get me nice and miffed
All that you did
And now it's done
This game my love has been quite fun
As for other gifts
I don't need one
You've done more than enough and then some

THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM THE STORM

It’s wet and cold, it’s dreary and dark.
The lightening flashes an evil spark.
The thunder roars with a lion’s temper.
The raindrops fall in tempo.

The storm is approaching little by little
It takes it’s own sweet time.
The storm is coming it’s gradually coming
To keep the world in darkness.

It’s wet and cold dark and dreary;
It’s coming to blot out the sun.
There’s no way to stop it,
There’s no place to run

The storm will Always find you.
It has no shape.
It has no form.
It’ll come at anytime.

The storm is approaching the young and the old
It doesn’t matter who you are.
It’s coming to find you. It always will.
It’s coming to take you. It always does.

Its fury will find you and take you away;
There is no resistance that you can use
It takes you and then-

Element of Space

The huge cube stood flat on the ground
Smooth and Black
Standing next to it confident and strong
The Beauty climbed the ladder towards the top.

A space odyssey
Domineering it's place.
Big, Black, Blank;
Harnessed power of a thousand ponies
Burning inside.

Time stands still.
Bursting with internal light
Stars take flight

How high does the ladder go?
The beauty will seek,
Climbing until once again
Smooth and Black,
Harnessed power,
Burning inside
The huge cube stands flat on the ground.

SHORT TRIP

I took a walk in to nowhere but I’m not sure if I’ve returned. I see my house. I see my clothes and all the things I’ve earned. But I only remember walking into nowhere and I cannot quite recall, if I ever reached the shiny black brick barrier, which marked my return trip home.

Once while I was walking around I swore I heard a checkered bird call my by my nick-name., Yoli was the sound I heard I blinked and on the ground I found tiny prints and peacock feathers golden puddles and scribbled letters but the bird had disappeared. I closed my eyes and cleaned my ears.

I took a walk into nowhere. I‘m certain of that fact on the return path I saw a finch with a purple cap. I blinked once then once again he didn’t disappear. At least until I thought to take a chance and venture nearer.

Yes I took a walk in to nowhere and no one can tell me I didn’t, but whether or not I’ve returned again I really cannot say. It’s been fun I guess, but maybe just to see I think I’ll walk the other way to see what’s there for me.
