behind closed eyes.

seems to disappear in years.

I'm uncertain of my 

next tomorrow-

Where I will be?

What it will bring?

But as for today,

with feathers,

I play.

Disappearing Days

I blinked and must have missed it

The time slipping away

I know the new year has just begun

but the days didn't pass

they seemed to run

Sky is blue

Not gray

Enjoyed each moment

in a special way

but how quickly we arrived

to today

I think is a sneaky phrase

Slips, slides, slinks, strides

It moves in mysterious ways

out of the woodwork they came.

Laughter and wonder

What rock have you been under?

The summer heat's disturbed your slumber.

Memories retold.

Questions asked, quite bold.

Young at heart yet feeling old.

Semi precious thoughts.

Hold on to what you've got.

Let go of what you have not.

Blowing on the embers.

Ask if I remember

Those memories quite tender.

It's hard to stay in the present
when the past is determined to find you
It's as if every step you take
it over takes you by two.

What are you supposed to do
when you let it go but it holds on to you?
How do you get away
when you leave but it's determined to stay?

It's hard to find the future path
when the road block of yesterday
lasts and lasts.

Redirected focus and Flash
change direction and crash
Walked headlong into a blast from the past.

Is there something I need to see?
Is there a reason it's following me?
Is there a lesson yet to learn?
If so teach me so I can turn
my  different corner and be free.

of how not to be so complacent.
