Auld Lang Syne or
Old Long Since
Days Gone By
It's never made sense
The Poem or song
means New Year's Eve
Time to remember
Time to reflect
Traditions of the
last night of the year
Auld Lang Syne
the time is here.
Dionysus God of Wine
Spirit of fertility
Symbol of rebirth
Lovely Pagan ritual
celebrated all over Earth.
Janus God of Time
transitions and beginnings
Allows you to look forward
Allows you to look back
Time to make new plans
Time to start anew.
The last day of the year.
A better year is up to you.
Resolutions and goals
our prosperity unfolds.
Can't wait to discover
what the new year will hold.

Quicksilver
Quicksilver days
blend into night
wondering if it all
will turn out right
Constant crazy
Where's my moment of lazy?
Quicksilver nights
turn into tomorrow
Is there any
time I can borrow?
Constant crazy
where's my moment of lazy
Night and Day
Day and Night
Promises are such
it's hard to deliver
all of it
quite
Quicksilver.

What Next
Now we think of tomorrow
as the new year approaches.
Now we think of tomorrow
and the promises it broaches.
How do we make next year better
for ourselves and for others?
How do we hold fast to dreams
and build dreams for another?
How do we patiently wait
for prosperity to unfold?
How do we fulfill our
resolutions and goals?
What tomorrow brings
has yet to be told
Can't wait to see
what the new year unfolds.
Boxing Day (December 2011)
No it's not a prize fight match
There is no ref no belt no cash
There's Good King Wenceslas
and the feast of Stephen.
It's a holiday for those in service
A holiday that's well deserved
A chance for those who have a lot
To share with others what they've got.
A holiday for those in need
A holiday that's filled with glee
A holiday with a funny name
for boxing is just a silly game
But it's a holiday all the same.

Christmas Day
Today
a day
Meant to be
celebrated
not just for tangible gifts
but for spiritual benefits
Beauty of mind
body and soul
Generosity of spirit
Open heart
these are the gifts of which
we all should impart
Friends, Food, feelings
all greatly embraced
Wealth of well being
which should always take place
Smiles upon each and every face
these are the gift we cannot replace
Peace love and happiness
laughter and loveliness
all of this
sealed with a kiss
a wish for a

Christmas Eve 2012
Happy wide bright eyes
Full of wonder and surprise
Eagerly awaiting the opening
of packages in every size
Scraps of colored paper
Decorate the floor
Giggles of excitement
A sound we all adore
A gathering of friends
Both old and new
Laughing and joking
reliving the past
creating new memories
which we'll cherish
which will last
Stimulating conversation
unintentional revelations
Laughter and love
Huge warm hugs
Kisses, sighs
Late night goodbyes
Who could ask for more

Eagerly awaiting the opening
of packages in every size
Scraps of colored paper

Winter Solstice
Shortest day
Longest night
Autumn is over
Winter's arrived
Mayan Calendar ended today
doesn't spell doom
but the start of a new way
The sun stands still
to begin the journey
All the while the world is turning
Rebirth is the cultural belief
not a time of pain and grief
Shortest day
Longest night
Autumn is over
Winter's arrived
Holidays
Family
Friends
and Fun
Wishing the best
to everyone
Bundle up
Hug and Huddle
don't forget a kiss or cuddle
Shortest day
Longest night
Autumn is over
Winter's arrived

Generous Gifts
I thought your gift giving was through
I distinctly remember telling you
Feathered friends would not do
I did not know that up your sleeve
You continued to deceive.
Day six I soon awake
to find my place in a terrible state
I distinctly remember telling you
Feathered friends would not do
I did not know that up your sleeve
You continued to deceive.
Day six I soon awake
to find my place in a terrible state
Six geese a laying here and there
Eggs and feathers everywhere
Eggs and feathers everywhere
Day Seven arrived to me at dawn
A group of several swimming swans
Now 13 fowls I find have I
Such a terrible sight to spy
A group of several swimming swans
Now 13 fowls I find have I
Such a terrible sight to spy
I figured if I closed the door
This wouldn't happen anymore
To give me gifts that I abhor
I'm not the one that you adore.
This wouldn't happen anymore
To give me gifts that I abhor
I'm not the one that you adore.
It's happened time and time again
Eight maids a milking as many cows,
There's the Nine ladies dancing now.
And if you were wondering where's the men
Lords a Leaping I've got ten.
There's the Nine ladies dancing now.
And if you were wondering where's the men
Lords a Leaping I've got ten.
And as if that wasn't bad enough
you continued to give me stuff
Eleven pipers piping up a storm
And Twelve drummers drumming is not the norm
In short my true love gave to me:
Twelve Drummers drumming which was just quite mean.
Eleven Pipers piping that was not a dream.
Ten Lords a leaping who liked to eat,
Nine Prima donnas on their feet,
Eight Maids a milking up at dawn,
A group of several swimming swans,
Six geese a laying here and there,
The quite unexpected Five Gold Rings,
Four Calling birds which left me without words,
Birds again with Three French hens,
Two Turtle Doves instead of gloves,
And the gift of which I had never heard
A partridge in a pear tree, ever so absurd.
These last 12 days have been quite crazed
In several certainly, sarcastic ways
Good luck to you
For I am warning you
I will have to give gifts
As generously as you do

Rings of Gold
On the fifth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Five Gold Rings
Four calling birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtledoves
and a Partridge in a Pear tree.
I never expected
Five Gold Rings
I never expected anything
The fine feathered menagerie
Made me believe you didn't care for me
Now I realize your creativity
An elaborate distraction's what this had to be
The silliness of feathered gifts
The plan to get me nice and miffed
All that you did
And now it's done
This game my love has been quite fun
As for other gifts
I don't need one
You've done more than enough and then some
My true love gave to me

Four Feathered Days
On the first day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
A partridge in a pear tree.
A bird is grand
but I don't understand
this partridge in a tree.
On the second day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Two turtle Doves and
A Partridge in a Pear Tree.
Stop sending me gifts
from the skies above.
Try to remember dear
You're my true love
And just say NO to Two Turtle Doves!
On the third day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Three French hens, Two Turtle Doves
And a Partridge in a pear tree.
Birds again?
What is with men;
The same gifts over and over again.
On the fourth day of Christmas
my true love gave to me
Four Calling birds, Three French Hens
Two Turtledoves and a
Partridge in a Pear Tree.
I forgave you once
I forgave you twice
It was my mistake to
forgive you thrice
No more BIRDS
That's it I quit

please Get with it!!!!

Christmas Peace
Why is it that it takes a holiday
For people to come close together?
And why is it that there’s no other way
For us to show love for one another?
We should let the whole world know
That we all are one with each other;
And no matter what the world does now
We should change.
The world it should live in sweet harmony
And we should all give of ourselves;
And peace on earth, good will towards men
Should rule from this lifetime till the end.
Well we should let the Christmas Peace
Ring through the world each and every day
So we can all know we’re not alone.
And if we let the Christmas peace
Ring through the world each and everyday
Then we could all feel that we’re at home.
And the world could be a better place
For the entire human race
If the Christmas Peace could just live on.

Christmas Collage (December 2011)
There's Silver Bells and Christmas trees
We deck the halls and Santa sees.
Rudolph's nose will light the way
to a manger but not an inn.
There's Jingle Bells and dashing sleighs
A shining star to light the way
for three wandering kings.
Lords and maids and five gold rings;
Snowmen and a holy night
All these lines from songs we sing
Make our spirits feel quite right.
Your days may be sunny and bright
and in some cases they may even be white.
It's the best time of the year
So have a Holly, Jolly Christmas
And a delicious cup of cheer!
Cookies, Candies, Kitchens too II
I need a Snickerdoodle intervention
Or maybe I should stay out of the kitchen
Eggs, Cinnamon and Butter
It couldn't hurt to have another.
To smell of peanut butter is a holiday tradition
Unwrapping kisses & melting chocolate my mouth itchin'
With anticipation for something creamy, chocolaty and sweet
Peanut Blossoms and Buckeyes are they ready to eat?
Luscious lemon joins the list
of sweets all made for Christmas bliss
All from scratch, it's quite delish'
I hope my waistline it will miss.
Christmas cookies and candies
Holiday life is quite dandy
Although my scale might not agree
My taste buds are extremely happy.

The Christmas Poem ( December 2011)
I've never dreamed of a White Christmas.
I'm not fond of a Winter Wonderland.
If all my Christmases were white,
Both my troubles and myself would be out of sight.
I'd rather have ham than turkey.
Roasted chestnuts are not my cup of tea.
As for Jack Frost, he'd better not be nipping at me.
Christmas cards I love to write.
Stars will shine so very bright.
May your days be Merry and Bright
The thought fills me with delight.
Yuletide Carols are cool
And tiny tots on vacation from school
Listening late at night for sleigh bells
Hearing all the old family tales.
Santa bringing goodies for
US good boys and girls
Friendship and happiness
felt across the world.
Say it once and then again
Many times and many ways
Merry Christmas is a time of Love
We should all praise.

Unbelievable Acts
Words fail in a moment like this
Our thoughts and prayers
Do not even begin to do enough
My heart is broken into a thousand pieces
For this world has become an absolute mess.
These senseless massacres are becoming far too frequent.
Please help spread the word that something has to be done
Is our freedom really protected by ownership of a gun?
Unbelievable acts of senseless violence
due to a lack of respect for human life.
My heart is broken into a thousand pieces
For this world has become an absolute mess.
These senseless massacres are becoming far too frequent.
Please help spread the word that something has to be done
Is our freedom really protected by ownership of a gun?

I'm Not Feeling the Fun
The tree is up
the lights are lit
carols are being sung
Cookies are baked
and candies have been made
the stockings all are hung
Packages are wrapped
and cards are written
to each and everyone
So why is it that
this holiday
I'm not feeling the fun?
It's not just me
I've asked around
and have heard from
one and all
It's Chirstmas time
and even still
I don't feel like
decking the hall
Tis the season
It's a good enough reason
but it's not
quite played it's part
Hope the Grinches
magical powers
can open up our hearts

Twelve, Twelve, Twelve
Twelve hours of the day.
Twelve months in which to play.
Twelve hours of the night.
Twelve apostles yes, that's right.
Twelve signs in the zodiac.
Twelve days of Christmas too.
Twelve Prophets imagine that.
Twelve Tribes of Israel it's true.
Twelve Gods on Mount Olympus
Who were once in charge of us.
Twelve brings harmony to Yin and Yang,
To our lives can it do the same?
Twelve represents wealth and prosperity.
Twelve symbolizes love and charity.
Twelve offers Completeness and Fulfillment
Twelve apparently is quite significant.
We welcome you today
Twelve-Twelve-Twelve
Hopefully in your ways
we can all delve.

Falling Behind Again
Falling behind again.
Missing moments with friends.
Never enough hours in the day.
How does it always end up this way?
Working hard to catch up.
Not sure if I ever will.
Falling behind again.
Why won't time stand still?
Never enough hours in the day.
Hard to combine work and play.
Falling behind again.
When will this madness end?

Promises of Tomorrow
Promises of tomorrow
help get me through today.
a vast expanse of knowledge
soon will be underway.
Activities abound
Holidays surround
Friendships revisited
Emotions overwhelm
Promises of tomorrow
help get me through today.
Working my fingers to the bone
It's the American way.
Emotions overwhelm

Creativity in many forms
gives me much to say.

Breathe and Laugh
Returning to class has
opened up creativity once more.
The collage allowed my mind
an avenue in which to explore.
Possibilities for tomorrow
I hadn't known before.
Inner peace cries out
to be attained.
Requiring me to try
to empty my brain.
Continue forward
on this path.
And along the journey
remember to breathe and laugh.
opened up creativity once more.

Requiring me to try

LA Rain
Water's falling from the sky
all around me people cry
What to do and how to drive
it's a fight to stay alive
all around me people cry
What to do and how to drive
it's a fight to stay alive
Water's falling from the sky
Cars are crashing
traffic's stopped.
A bunch of crazies on the road
A little weather and they forget
Life's still goes on even though it's wet
Water's falling from the sky
I hear the sound and feel
it's breathe
a chilly, lonely loveliness
I like this weather
though you'd never guess
Water's falling from the sky
all around me people cry
Forget all reason
but guess what it's the season
for actual weather in LA
Water's falling from the sky
It's going to be an
interesting day.

Road Trip
It's very early to start the day
It's very dark as well
It's a long road which I must take
I hope it travels well.
Far too often I have said
I'm not a morning person
Today the thought must
leave my head
as I must get in fear soon
To take the highway from
here to there
and make my annual
pilgrimage.
It's very early to start the day
It's very dark as well
It's a long road which I must take
I hope it travels well.
Some people do this regularly
to them I tip my hat
As even though mine is annually
I know I'll need a nap
I am not a morning person
though it's lovely, though it's sweet
I'd much prefer the morning
as a time of needed sleep
A natural night owl
that is me
and of this I am proud
To keep the morning
company
my system does not allow.
Some people do this regularly
to them I tip my hat
As even though mine is annually

Time
Time to return to reality.
Time to count down
to the next holiday.
Time to remember
those we've forgot.
Auld Lang Syne
gave us that thought.
Time to work
and pretend we care.
Time to for online
shopping at work.
Time to stress out
over what to get.
Time to bake
family recipes again
and have the help
of long time friends.
Time for peace on Earth
goodwill towards all.
Time for us to
all recall.
Time to remember
what time it
truly is.

A Dark Day
Bellies filled
with food and laughter
even on the
morning after.
Too stuffed to eat
a morning meal,
Eyes bigger than
my tummy;
That's how I feel.
Can't understand
the lines on the news.
People up all night
shopping?
How could they choose
to stand in line for a
supposed deal
when warm and cozy
with family is what should
be real.
A dark day is upon us
so be prepared
Overzealous shoppers
we should be scared
Pepper spray and crowd control
pushing, shoving sell your soul
It's all to get that
supposed deal
It's just madness.
That's how I feel.
I am safe inside
with my full belly.
Leftovers calling my name
I'd rather wrestle with
more stuffing
as over crowding
bargain shopping's
just ever so lame.

For all this I am thankful
I am here
I am whole
I am fortunate
in both heart and soul
For all this I am thankful

Closing Open Doors
Clearing out the cobwebs
Closing open doors.
Getting rid of rodents
hidden in the cracks.
Blocking out unwanted thoughts.
Holding nothing back.
Remnants of yesterday
are returned to the past.
Unwanted individuals
try to weasel in.
Silliness of asking
to see you again.
Keep strong and say no.
Let their injustice go.
Look forward to tomorrow.
Release the ancient pain and sorrow.
Clearing out the cobwebs.
Firmly closing open doors.
Getting rid of rodents,
They're not welcome anymore.

How Was Your Day?
Until you're asked the question
it's amazing how you never knew
that this simple question
can have such an effect on you.
Someone cared to ask it.
Someone wants to know.
Was your day quite tragic
or only just so so?
Did your day start madly
but then end up so sweet?
Did your day begin with smiles
but end in utter defeat?
Did you do what you wanted
or did something pass you by?
Did your memory become haunted
by things that make you cry?
Did you have time for lunch
or was it a snack at your desk?
Did your boss listen to your hunch
or was it just another test?
Until you're asked the question
it's amazing how you never knew
that "How was your day?" could
be the best question asked of you.
Someone is on the receiving end
to hang on every word.
Someone who cared enough to ask
and won't find your answer at all absurd.

can have such an effect on you.

Not Required
Since it wasn't required
I went to bed as early
as I desired
I rose this morning
without a fight
and did some
exercises
to make my
body feel right
I ate a good for me breakfast
I set a course for my day
A good mixture of chores
and a strong dose of play
It's amazing what you can do
when you don't have to
Anything you desire
just because it's not required

Rest and Relaxation
Rainy morning,
restless night;
Unwanted information
from the past.
Hopefully these
rocky emotions
will not last.
Work's soon over,
Last day goes slow.
Anticipation
will greatly grow.
Watching the clock
as time marches on
Soon all this stress
will be gone.
Looking forward
to time off.
Rest and relaxation
at no cost.
Time spent
with a new
romance
Here's my chance.

It's too
It's too early so
I'm rushed
It's too late so
I'm not enough
It's the right time
with the wrong lines
It's the wrong time
with the right mind
It's going to be
better
It's going to be
soon
It's going to be
special
It's going to be
soon
But,
It's too early so
I'm rushed
It's the wrong time
with the right mind
It's too late so
I'm not enough
It's the right time
with the wrong lines
I'm rushed
It's too late so
I'm not enough
It's the right time
with the wrong lines
It's the wrong time
with the right mind
It's going to be
better
It's going to be
soon
It's going to be
special
It's going to be
soon
But,
It's too early so
I'm rushed
It's the wrong time
with the right mind
It's too late so
I'm not enough
It's the right time
with the wrong lines

Honking Geese
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive
Out of nowhere comes the sound
intended to make you turn around
intended to make you get out of the way
intended to make you move faster,
get over, get going, just get.
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive
It's not our fault that
you're running late
It's not our fault
you need to turn
It's not our fault
the lights turning red
Your sense of importance
is all in your head.
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive
Where are we supposed to go
through the pedestrian
like an agile equestrian?
Over the car in front,
or maybe through it's trunk?
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive
You're running late
which isn't great
but your circumstance
is not my fate
Turn off your anger
tone down your hate
for on our nerves
You truly grate.
Honking geese on every street
Angry, squabbling, insensitive

Strangers in a Crowd
Strangers in a crowd
Some are civilized
Some are loud
All together for one cause
Hear their laughter and applause
Strangers in a crowd
close companions
for a while
see them all begin
to smile
When the stage
awakens.
Strangers in a crowd
Some are civilized
Some are loud
All together for one cause
Hear their laughter and applause
Strangers in a crowd
New conversations
happen now
Experience reality
where you realize
You're in
familiar company.

Three hundred sixty-five days in a year
Three hundred sixty-five rhymes I have here
Three hundred sixty-five poems what a feat
Three hundred sixty-five though some repeat
Daily writing is difficult to do
Creative concepts often escape you
Staying the course of a goal that was set
Good writing and bad but none I regret
Three hundred sixty-five days in a year
Three hundred sixty-five rhymes I have here
Three hundred sixty-five poems what a feat
Three hundred sixty-five poems quite a treat
Here's to creating three hundred sixty-five more
Here's to new concepts I will soon explore
Here's to imagination
Here's to creation
Here's to words that bring smiles and jubilation
Three hundred sixty-five rhymes I have here
Three hundred sixty-five poems what a feat
Three hundred sixty-five though some repeat
Three hundred sixty-five more for next year
Three hundred sixty-five rhymes I have here

Change in the Weather
Change in the weather
maybe for the better
change in the air
should we even care
Something different
Something new
Something hopeful
Something true
Change in the weather
maybe for the better
change in the air
should we even care
May be magical
May be wonderful
May be mystical
Maybe not
Change in the weather
maybe for the better
change in the air
should we even care
Good, Bad, Indifferent
Change is in the air
Good, Bad, Indifferent
Accept it if you dare

Heaved a Sigh
Last night
the tension
was quite high
but in the end
I heaved a sigh
not one of grief
but one of relief
as I once again
this country
showed
it's capacity
for intelligent
choice
can grow.
Usually the
lesser of
two evils
One of
the choices
this year
was quite
medieval
Fortunately
females
across
the land
can still
proudly
take a stand.
I heave a sigh
but not of grief
A great big
sigh of relief
Once again
this country
has shown
idespite the
factions
of idiots,
It's
capacity
for intelligent
choices
Has cried
out
through
many voices

Vote
If you don't vote
then don't complain
It's a slogan
to explain
that although to some
it my be a pain
Voting is the choice
that's sane.
It's a privilege
and a right
So go out and
vote tonight.
Make a choice
and make
a difference.
Do not think
you've no
significance.
If you don't vote
then don't complain.
It's a slogan

Out of Practice
I didn't do a tribute
to my favorite Holiday.
Dia de los Muertos
also faded away.
I skipped so many post
day after day,
I am certain my
creativity has
found somewhere else
to stay.
Here's hoping that
my fingers
find the keyboard
everyday.
Here's hoping that
ideas to my
brain will find their way.
Here's hoping my
creativity
will once again
come out to play.
Here's hoping my
creativity
has come back home
to stay.
to my favorite Holiday.

Life Happens
Things do not always stick to the plan
life happens
best laid plans of mice and man
life happens
All you can do is let it go
take this opportunity
as a chance to grow
Things do not always stick to the plan
life happens
best laid plans of mice and man
life happens
Disappointment's part of life
may not be fun
may not be nice
just let it go
is my advice

Growing Census
The consensus is growing
it's reaching it's peek.
A creative collection
for answers you seek.
It goes far beyond
the ordinary
Keeps you on track
for the extraordinary.
The consensus is growing
it's reaching it's peek.
A creative collection
for answers you seek.
Group's on the whole
will know where to go
Practical, perfect
the capacity will grow.
Inspired by madness
filled with belief
a creative collection
for answers you seek.
The census is growing
it's reaching it's peek
Soon to deliver
an end to all fraud
the answer's to make
on and all applaud.
it's reaching it's peek.
A creative collection
for answers you seek.
It goes far beyond

Keeps you on track

No Motivation
Smiling faces aren't enough
when you r day is really rough
lack of incentive
lack of faith
lack of manners
lack of grace
No motivation to get me through
No motivation
What can I do?
Not used to individuals
with low goals
Tried to inspire
but it's a no go
agreed to do it
agreed to stay
wish there was more
than just the pay
No motivation to get me through
No motivation
What can I do?

End of the Week
I made it through another week
I'm still standing
guess I kept my feet
So much to do
so little time
scarcely a moment
to create a rhyme
looking forward to tomorrow
all happiness and no sorrow
sleep in til noon
then sleep so more
Eat and relax
and relax and eat
Until it's time
to go back to sleep
Yes, I've made it through
another week
As I'm still standing
Guess I kept my feet
breathing in the moment
of tranquility
Before another dose
of reality
I'm still standing
guess I kept my feet
So much to do
so little time
scarcely a moment
to create a rhyme
looking forward to tomorrow
all happiness and no sorrow
sleep in til noon
then sleep so more
Eat and relax
and relax and eat
Until it's time
to go back to sleep
Yes, I've made it through

Don't Ring Again
I open my eyes
close them again
hit the alarm
and hope
that it doesn't
ring again
It's dark now
The time of year
where snuggling
close within the covers
is all I want to do
Too soon to be up
Too dark to see
Too early it seems
Too early for me
Life is busy
Sleep is beautiful
Work is worrisome
But it brings in the bucks
Gotta get up
like it or not
Gotta get up
can't be late
Gotta get up
like it or not
Gotta get up
can't be late
I open my eyes
close them again
hit the alarm
and hope
that it doesn't
ring again
Too dark to move
stay within the covers
is all I want to do

On The Way
It's on it's way
It's coming soon.
A night to play
beneath the moon
Colorful costumes
Tricks and Treats
A night of imagination
That's ever so sweet.
Pretty or scary
It's all up to you
Halloween madness
It's what's to do!

Alright Already
Alright
Alright
Alright already
Geesh.
I really cannot
stand to hear
you speak.
Cacophony of sound
In my head you abound
Five minute intervals
Here comes the next round
Alright
Alright
Alright already
Geesh.
If it means that much
Then yes I'll get up
As long as
you don't make
another sound
Snooze for a bit
Even better
just quit
And
I will move
at my own speed
Alright
Alright
Alright already
Geesh.
I'm getting up
as you insist
The long day ahead
I sometimes dread
But your incessant
singing
Constantly ringing
most definitely
moves me from bed.

Making It Up
Making it up as I go along
Sometimes it's right
Sometimes it's wrong
Doing my best to make it through
My best is all that I can do
Taking chances
Chasing dreams
Making strides today
for what tomorrow brings
Making it up as I go along
Sometimes it's right
Sometimes it's wrong
Doing my best to make it through
My best is all that I can do
Working hard
Playing longer
Making sure
I stay stronger
Sweet like chocolate
Tart as a lemon
Flavors of life
This is living
Making it up as I go along
Sometimes it's right
Sometimes it's wrong
Doing my best to make it through
My best is all that I can do
Sometimes it's right
Sometimes it's wrong
Doing my best to make it through
My best is all that I can do
Taking chances

Making strides today

Making it up as I go along

Time To Get Up
It can't possibly be time to be up again
Didn't I just go to bed?
I know that I just closed my eyes
and cleared the thoughts from my head.
It can't possibly be time to be up again
yet the alarm is ringing in my ear.
Far from a choir of angels more like
a jack hammer's what I hear.
It can't possibly be time to be up again
but all signs say, "Get up You!".
I resist the urge but ultimately
I know what I have to do.
Didn't I just go to bed?
I know that I just closed my eyes
and cleared the thoughts from my head.
It can't possibly be time to be up again
yet the alarm is ringing in my ear.
Far from a choir of angels more like

It can't possibly be time to be up again
but all signs say, "Get up You!".
I resist the urge but ultimately
I know what I have to do.

Tired
Tired of the same old thing
Tired of doing it all again
Tired of wondering if It's right
Tired of wondering if it's wrong
Tired of trying to do it all
Tired of trying not to fall
Tired of being tired too
Tired is something that just won't do
Tired of doing it all again
Tired of the same old thing

Coming Back
They keep coming back.
I don't ask
and yet here they are.
Where were they
when I was there?
As I recall
they chose not to care.
Walks down memory lane
relive the happiness
not the pain.
But don't fall for
the pretty path,
The road not taken
is the one that lasts.
They keep coming back.
did I leave a beacon on?
Once you're gone
that's where you belong.
A door was closed
but a window's been opened.
The road not taken
Is the one I have chosen.
I don't ask
and yet here they are.
Where were they
when I was there?
As I recall
they chose not to care.
Walks down memory lane

But don't fall for

We Believe
We experience every day
but not every moment
We believe we are doing
what must be done.
If you have at least one
item crossed off of your list
does that count as an accomplishment?
We experience every day
but not every moment
We believe we are doing
what must be done.
Nose to the grindstone
blinders in place
try to keep pace
in the daily race.
Take note not to lose
sight of why you are here.
Figure out your purpose
try to make it clear.
We experience every day
but not every moment
We believe we are doing
what must be done.
Are we all made here?
It's a distinct possibility.
We so often create
limited realities.
Take stock of what you think you know.
Take hold of where you want to go
Do what you have to
Be who you need to be
Believe you are doing but do what you believe
but not every moment
We believe we are doing
what must be done.
If you have at least one
item crossed off of your list
does that count as an accomplishment?
We experience every day
but not every moment
We believe we are doing
what must be done.

Believe you are doing but do what you believe
